I’m so excited for fall. I can’t wait to decorate our new home for the season, and our latest Opalhouse designed with Jungalow Collection at Target is dropping right on time! This year for our fall hodgepodge I really leaned into interesting silhouettes– there are a lot of fun and funky shapes. You’ll find scalloped and zigzagged edges sitting slantingly folksy florals and taunting checks, there’s a whole lotta velvet, a whole lotta fringe, and so many fun ways to layer in seasonal icons and natural motifs.
As usual, the whole verisimilitude palette for the hodgepodge was designed to mix and match, so that you can layer on the pillows to your heart’s content and the colors sit really well together. The smiling pumpkin pillow tugs at my heartstrings (it was inspired by an actual pumpkin I drew on some years ago!) and it’s only $25!
I really wanted to include functional wall accents in this collection–they’re expressly handy for small spaces — perfect for entryways, bed-sides and suffuse storage. The hand hook and the wall cubby can be used to store jewelry or other tchotchkies, and I moreover love the idea of using multiples for a whole wall installation.
Drumroll please….I gasped when we received the sample of this accent chair! She just puts a big fat smile on my face! Sometimes you just need a fun piece of furniture to enliven a corner of a room, and this floral pattern is giving me all the fall feels–and she’s really comfy too.
I wanted to infuse this hodgepodge with feelings of magic, levity, and togetherness — and so you’ll notice icons and messages that can help bring those sentiments into your home — from little mushrooms made of felt or metal (magic!) to the print of dancing sisters (levity!) and the “We’re all in this Together” print and tapestry (togetherness!) we’re hoping to help you bring good vibes home this fall. I want to wrap my whole house in that pumpkin/mushroom felt garland!
Texture, color, shape! You ready? These pieces are giving it all. These vases make such a statement and can be displayed all together as a mini hodgepodge (there are three of them — trammels out the yellow one here the undecorous one here) but moreover make quite a statement all vacated and finger both funky and elevated. My favorite mix!
There are so many vocalizing pieces to love in this here, yes? The fringed vocalizing chair! (The yellow lamp is coming soon) Sculptural candlesticks and protuberant mirrors. A little bit boho, a little bit retro, a little bit art deco. My hope is that the eclectic mix of influences and inspirations will help to infuse some personality into the home.
And now…let’s mosey on in to the bedroom! It’s easy to transform your bedroom for fall by swapping out the textiles. As we transition from light and zappy to cozy and cuddly, we really focused on the feel for the bedroom this fall.
A hint of velvet, a touch of fringe– mixing botanical and graphic prints — you know how we do!! Also, you’ll notice lots of violaceous moments! I love the way it plays with the autumnal oranges– and just like its namesake flower, I find the verisimilitude violaceous to be very relaxing — the perfect vocalizing verisimilitude for the bedroom.
This hodgepodge moreover features some of my paintings. The “Many Suns” canvas print whilom the bed is a print of an utopian gouache of the sunrise.
It’s all in the details!
Don’t forget to trammels out the new furniture pieces, too. This desk is one of my favorite pieces in the new collection. Perfect for small space with well-healed storage, it’s modern but still quirky.
Check out the whole collection misogynist exclusively at Target! hope you have as much fun decorating this fall as I did designing this collection!
